How are the memory verses treating you?
This is the point where it starts getting real…to actually retain all of these, I’m having to make sure to review them a few times through the week as I add new verses.
Here’s the 11th verse of the year:
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Inhale truth. You got this 👊

Reflection
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
It may not give us much pause today when we hear things about being “God’s temple”.
That’s not because it shouldn’t but rather because we are numb to many spiritual truths and principles that used to resonate loudly.
Forget the mental turmoil and the separation from the normal stream of life that accompany addiction.
These are what often bring us to our knees looking for a way out, but there’s a simpler component to our straying.
Our lives are not our own. And our bodies are not our own.
We very practically are tearing down our physical bodies when we overindulge and poison them with an abundance of alcohol and/or drugs.
Moderation is out the window, and though it does little to slow our progression, this reminder of the sacred nature of our physical bodies should encourage our sobriety.
Thank God that we find a way out. To arrest the progression.
Yes, damage was done. Perhaps irreversibly. But grab hold of this day of sobriety as though it were a lifeline.
Because it is.
God, help me treat my body with the reverence you deserve.
